Chespirito

Chespirito

‘Piggy-backing’ on Galavision’s celebration of Chespirito’s 35 years of fun entertainment for children of all ages, I would like to invite you to visit ‘La Vecindad del Chavo del Ocho’ and celebrate Chespirito’s 35 years in my art gallery featuring some of Chespirito’s characters (with a twist, of course) such as El Chavo del Ocho, La Chilindrina, Quico, Doña Florinda, Don Ramon, El Chapulin Colorado: http://gabrielnavar.com/chespirito.htm.

Kermit… in progress…. enjoy!

I wanted to share this part of my process with my friends… It involves the painting “app 4 green progress”. It was my second painting in the Sesame Street Characters series featuring Kermit the Frog. I incorporated “La Mano” (The Hand) from the Mexican Loteria game… this seemingly simple, yet powerful and symbolic card (card number 21). This page includes photos of the painting in several steps from inception through completion.

Chespirito

There is a new page on my website inspired by characters created by the humorous, iconic Chespirito. “El Chapulin Colorado”, “El Chavo Del Ocho”, “La Chilindrina”, “Kiko”, “Don Ramon”, and several other characters, are part of the “popular” comedy (for the masses, of course) brainchild of the legendary writer and actor Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known as “Chespirito”. Check it out…

Recent Website Update

View recent website updates featuring new painting in 2008-11 Gallery Page. I have added recent work that is part of my recent and ongoing “app” series. Included is my version of the Morton Salt Girl transformed into Mexican artist Frida Kahlo carrying a “smart” tablet while app concepts and ideas “rain” upon her. Hope you enjoy my recent work !
